Move Your Funds

Move your funds

This might not seem like the most obvious climate change action, but it sure can have a big impact if many Australians start investing into ethical funds.

Why

Australia’s superannuation industry invests $2.7 trillion of our hard-earned retirement money into coal mines, coal seam gas and other big contributors towards climate change.

Did you know that the majority of our big banks fund fossil fuels? Since 2016, the big banks have loaned $35.5 billion to fossil fuels.

How

  • We recommend you start by checking out the Market Forces website, it’s a great resource to help you to see which banks and superfunds are ethical, and which are supporting fossil fuels: www.marketforces.org.au

  •  Ask your bank to stop funding fossil fuels by using the website form: www.marketforces.org.au/info/compare-bank-table

  • Move your bank account to a bank that invests ethically

  • Ask your super fund to stop investing in fossil fuels, you can do that online on: www.marketforces.org.au/superfunds/

  • Move your super to an ethical super fund
